Integrated best Practices
This workshop integrates Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Crisis Intervention, and Harm Reduction into a comprehensive curriculum that supports Helpers to understand when and how to utilize interventions and techniques that have been proven to transform individuals' lives. Often Helpers are trained in multiple modalities but are never trained when to use what technique. This training shows how to use best practices in your daily interactions and how to maximums your skills to best serve your organization and community.
Motivational interviewing (mi) introduction
This workshop teaches specific tools to promote behavior change in adolescents and adults. The training gives participants proven techniques to inspire motivation and support individuals from contemplation to action. MI has been shown to be highly effective for people struggling with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, homelessness, and substance use disorders.
TRAUMA INFORMED CARE (TIC) INTRODUCTION
This workshop introduces the concepts of trauma and how it effects an individual’s ability to cope with the world around them. It explains how the brain reacts to trauma and how it may affect behavior. This workshop provides tangible techniques to support someone in trauma or who has experienced trauma. The skills include coping techniques, environmental influences, and personal reaction to an individual experiencing trauma.
THERAPEUTIC CRISIS DE-ESCALATION
This workshop provides an overview of crisis and its effects on human behavior. It gives tangible techniques to prevent crises as well as de-escalation techniques. It teaches constructive coping skills to replace negative behavior and focuses on restoring the relationship between the involved individuals and preventing future problems. The workshop also reviews safety precautions to ensure emotional and physical safety for all involved.

MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING ADVANCED
This workshop builds on techniques learned in MI Introduction. The training takes a deeper dive into advanced MI techniques and steps for implementing MI skills in everyday practice. Participants learn strategies for problem solving complex issues in MI. The workshop is an interactive training that is developed to meet the education level of the participants.
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING FOR SUPERVISORS
This workshop builds on techniques learned in MI Introduction and trains managers on how to use these tools to motivate Helper in meeting their full potential. This includes training on how to ensure MI is being utilized by staff throughout their work and to motivate Helper to thrive in their role. This workshop trains supervisors on basic leadership techniques to improve overall staff moral and program management.
TRAUMA INFORMED SYSTEMS
This workshop takes the concepts and techniques learned Trauma Informed Care and applies them to the organizations mission, values, and systems. This is a deeper dive into how trauma effects the organizational structure and service delivery. This workshop will provide a space to discuss how these principles are being used in the organization.
